Dry shampoo. We can’t imagine a time when it wasn’t around to save our limp strands before happy hour. Perhaps one of the only drawbacks to its magnificence is that it can leave behind an ashy residue. Also, it’s not always cheap (especially at the rate we use it). Here, a quick alternative using two ingredients you already have in your kitchen.
What you need: Cornstarch, cocoa powder, a small mixing bowl, a whisk and a fluffy makeup brush.
Why it works: Cornstarch absorbs oil, and the cocoa tints the powder so it blends with darker hair colors and doesn’t leave a chalky residue. Plus, it smells kinda yummy.
Pro tip: The cornstarch (and most dry shampoos) does still have the tendency to leave your hair looking a bit dull. To add back some luster, apply a glossy serum from the middle of your strands to the ends.
